Christingle Service

The lights were dimmed and the church was lit by the flicker of 50 candles as we came to the end of the Christingle Service. And in this candlelit atmosphere the congregation of mums, dads, children and grandparents joined together in singing 'Be still for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One is here'.

With a giant visual aid, Rev Chris Tebbutt had explained the meaning of the 4 elements of the Christingle - the orange representing the world, the ribbon representing the blood of Jesus, the 4 sticks of fruit representing the goodness of God's provision through the seasons and the candle reminding us that Jesus is the light of the world.

A collection was made in support of the work of The Children's Society.
