CARING FOR OUR BUILDINGS
We have the responsibility of caring for and developing our buildings, both the Grade 1 listed church and the Canford Magna Centre. We also aim to maintain the grounds around them and the Rectory as befits one of the most beautiful locations in Dorset.
Our thanks to the Dorset Historic Churches Trust http://dorsethistoricchurchestrust.co.uk/index.htm  and the National Church Trust  http://www.nationalchurchestrust.org They both supported us (£5,000 and £7,500 respectively) to do our fabric repairs which cost £45,000 in total.

We often need help with maintenance tasks, so if you want to join the fun in our team do contact us through the office at office@canfordparish.org
We also work closely with our Audio-Visual team headed by Cliff Luther in maintaining our sound system and the computerised video network.
CURRENT MAINTENANCE PROGRAMME
There were over 100 individual items needing attention following the recent Quinquennial Survey. In summary these are:-

Various repairs to the roof to replace dislodged tiles, re-point capstones
Ÿ
Repairs and replacement of weathered masonry, especially on the West buttresses.
Ÿ
Preparing and preserving the doors
Ÿ
Making safe and cleaning the steps to the crypt / boiler room
Ÿ
Cleaning and re-varnishing the wooden benches outside the church
Ÿ
Re-painting all the gutters, down pipes and metal window furniture
All of which are now complete
