It’s ‘All Quiet on the Bearwood Front’ Or so it has seemed. It 'has' been quiet, but not totally silent as the total money given slowly rises pound by pound.
The rest of the money received came in various ways. Pledges received £52,708 Monies raised £14,584 Through a variety of ways Monthly Tithes £4,122 (£8,000 still to come plus £2,250 Gift Aid) Conference £1,151 Gift Aid £9,314 Bank Interest £3,394
Total £85,273 Overall Total £129,273
(Pledges that are still to be received are £16,000)
If we were to add Talbot Village Trust's grant of £25.000 we are close to £155.000 plus the pledges that may or may not come in. I do hope that all this makes sense. We are clearly a long way from the estimated cost of the project, but I am pleased to say that 'something’ has been happening - and God will be honoured and glorified in this project. If you have not financially contributed to the project and would like to - then please fill in the form on the back of this leaflet and leave it at either the Parish office at 2 Chichester walk, or at the St. Barnabas office in King John Avenue. We will try to give some more regular updates in the future. Every blessing in Jesus. Rev. Geoff Boland Vicar St. Barnabas
The extension project was launched in March 2007 and is meant to be a 'Parish' project - not just a St. Barnabas project. Over the years the various Canford building projects have been shared and supported by all three churches. Of course the reality is that the church that is benefiting the most has usually contributed the most. But that has not stopped our different congregations from being enthusiastic and supportive for our brothers and sisters nearby.
This is the latest information that we have concerning the extension project.
We contacted over twenty charities and trusts with information and a C.D. ROM about our project. The response has been very disappointing and only Talbot Village Trust have offered a grant for the whole project.
It has been some time now since we sent out the letters and we are not expecting any more replies from now on.
Having said that though we are encouraged by what we do have in the kitty.
We started out with around £22,000 in the Parish Fabric Fund - plus £22,000 in the St. Barnabas CAF Cash Account.
